We have all read stories of outbreaks of the Avian Flu in Asian countries. These outbreaks are not isolated, and has the potential to spread to epidemic levels. The virus, avian influenza A (H5N1), is an infection that affects both poultry and humans.
Many countries have reported outbreaks in the bird populations. This virus occurs naturally in birds, but most of the time they do not get sick from this intestinal virus. Once the virus is unleashed it is very contagious, and often lethal. The virus spreads through feces and other body secretions such as saliva and nasal discharge. Direct contact is not required, and birds can be contaminated through cages, dirt, water, or feed.
There are flu shots for people, but do you wonder: "How do they know one year ahead which kind of flu shot is needed for the population?" The avian flu can strike in two forms: the milder version gives typical flu-like symptoms, and will pass with little harm. The high pathogenic version is the focus of concern, it spreads quickly, and can have a mortality rate of 90% or higher in less than 48 hours.
Transmittal of viruses from bird to human is usually low, but cases have occurred in recent years. For many this infestation has been deadly. The World Health Organization continues to study and follow the avian flu virus, knowing that type A viruses can change. Are we at risk? We can only assume the potential harm that an outbreak of a mutated strain of avian flu can cause. This virus continues to be of concern to health organizations around the world.
What can the individual do to protect themselves from the avian flu, or any flu virus? Much of our health care has been taken out of our hands, and given to the "professionals". We still have the right and responsibility to make wise choices in our diet and daily health maintenance.
We have seen how use of Miracle Mineral Solution, or MMS, has effectively treated malaria, a mosquito transmitted disease. This treatment is inexpensive and fast-acting. MMS seeks out viruses and bacteria in the body and render them harmless, leaving the healthy, oxygen filled cells intact and unaffected. If MMS can make such a difference with Malaria, perhaps it should be brought into the forefront as a potential treatment for avian influenza.
